RKW Targets Eastern European Labels and Tags Market


RKW showcased its packaging films based on FPO® at the RosUpack show that took place from June 26 to 29 in Moscow. At the show RKW demonstrated the versatility of their films for labels and tags. The technical films are suited for a broad range of applications. As the original manufacturer of the innovative material with benefits in terms of sustainability, printability and barrier properties, RKW aims for further growth in the Eastern European market.

“Eastern Europe is a very important market and RKW is the market leader for this kind of film”, says Peter Sevonius, Sales Manager FPO® at RKW. FPO® (filled polyolefins) is a special film with more than 50 percent natural minerals. It is commonly used for packaging wraps or lamination films. “This time we introduced films for labels and tags to show potential users the technical advantages of the material in different applications”, explains Peter Sevonius.

Die-cut lids with logo on the inside win customer hearts


At RosUpack 2018, several big companies got interested in the Packaging Factory MILK’s new technology - putting clients’ logo on the inside of unembossed die-cut lids. Branding on the inside is a brave move towards the most up-to-date European packaging market.

End-users will see foamed heat seal lacquer separate dots forming customer print when they open a cup with yogurt, for example. The gentle white design looks elegant and speaks for itself - the product with its packing and contents is of the most premium quality. A dairy company from Azerbaijan was one of the first clients to express their wish to test this exquisite packing. After the exhibition, the Packaging Factory MILK will send them and some other food companies the testing samples with logo on the inside. According to the Packaging Factory MILK's commercial department experience, innovative packing quickly gets popular once at least one leading company accepts it and provides the first batch of well presented product to the market.

Janoschka on RosUpack 2018

Logo on the inside - a hidden pearl making your yogurt a marketing tool


The unique flexible packing – Unembossed die-cut lids with logo on the inside – has become available for the Packaging Factory MILK’s clients to test in production. The company has produced its first samples of Unembossed die-cut lid with logo distance marker for sealing PET-containers. Their inner side is decorated with a customer’s elegant logo made of foamed heat-seal lacquer dots. This additional branding, accomplished with the white on silver colors, will gently imply that the product your customer has chosen was made with love and attention to every detail.

Like other trends, the idea of printing logo on the inside of a die-cut lid has come to Russia from Europe. But even there it is a trademark of a premium brand that can allow the aggressive marketing strategy. The Packaging Factory MILK is the only company in Russia that offers this technology. To achieve this, the factory from Tula acquired a complete set of equipment.

Some of the company’s major clients are already considering the brave innovation. Among them are EFKO that operates as “Sloboda”, and a Russian-Belarus company Balmiko (“Milava).
