RosUpack and Printech: sales from stands, eco-friendly initiatives, and new records
On 15-18 June 2021, at “Crocus Expo”, Moscow, the 25th Anniversary International Exhibition for the Packaging Industry RosUpack and the 6th International Exhibition of Equipment, Technologies and Supplies for Print and Advertising Production Printech took place. The events were organized by the international group of companies Hyve.

RosUpack, the first major exhibition of the packaging industry in the world, held since the beginning of the pandemic, for the 25th anniversary, gathered representatives of Russian and foreign business on its platform. Industry professionals had a unique opportunity to get acquainted with a wide range of packaging equipment and materials from the world's largest manufacturers, as well as equipment, technologies and materials for printing production presented at Printech.
Packaging of the future: when can Russia expect a circular economy?
Antro Säilä, WPO Vice President of Sustainability and Director of the Finnish Packaging Association, spoke at the conference on the circular economy and experience of implementing it in the European Union.
A circular economy, or a closed-cycle economy, as opposed to a linear economy, involves using waste materials as raw material for new products.
The huge amount of waste currently being created and mainly used packaging is putting an unbearable burden on the environment. Public pressure on this issue is growing and politicians around the world are thinking about regulating the packaging industry and introducing a circular economy.
Looking ahead to RosUpack 2019 - just a few weeks to go
On 18 June 2019, the 24th international packaging industry exhibition RosUpack opens at Moscow’s Crocus Expo. Event Director Sergey Ditev spoke to Unipack.ru to spill the beans on what to expect from this year’s leading packaging industry gathering.
How is the preparation going for RosUpack 2019?
Preparation is in full swing - this year the exhibition has expanded; we’re expecting more than 120 new exhibiting companies. We’re gaining momentum and have seen a whole lot of visitor registrations already.
Unveiled last year, the new branding for the show, which went down very well, is being updated.
Exhibitors have already begun to prepare for the event and we’re almost fully booked in terms of stand space. Exhibitors are especially active in the packaging and packaging production sectors; many companies have increased their stands.
Russia needs investments in packaging
Russia has huge potential. It also pertains to new investments in the packaging industry. This is what Eric Pavone, Business Director of BOBST Business Unit Web-fed, thinks, and an interview with him Unipack.Ru offers to its readers.
What interesting things could visitors see at BOBST stand at RosUpack 2014 in Moscow?
As you can see, we have a large booth at the show. Why is that? Because Russia is one of the most important markets for our company. Under the slogan "One group is one brand", since 2012, we have unified all group companies under one brand name of BOBST. The Web-Fed Business Unit manufacturing flexible packaging machinery has undergone particularly great changes. Earlier the brand-names of our equipment - laminators, metallizers, flexo machines and gravure printing machines – were called Rotomec, General, Fischer & Krecke. Now we have all united under the brand name of BOBST. I must say that we have not lost our identity, we still produce Rotomec, Fischer & Krecke and other machines, but these names have turned into machine model names. Therefore, here, at an important packaging exhibition like RosUpack, we represent the company under one brand name of BOBST.
RosUpack is not a show wherein we need to demonstrate equipment. We participate in this show because the exhibition provides an opportunity to meet. Business, image and communication with customers - these are the main factors of our participation. Many leading packaging manufacturers - such as Mondi, Constantia Flexibles, Eximpack, Gotek, Danaflex etc. - have their stands at RosUpack. And they all are our customers. It is important to be close to them at the fair to demonstrate our commitment to the Russian market. And we're glad to have taken part in this exhibition.
